New Year’s Eve in Southern California
The New Year is quickly coming up! Don’t have any plans for that countdown on New Year’s Eve? Here are some fun ideas you might enjoy so you are not a couch potato before 2017!
Grand Park DTLA
Every year, the Grand Park located at the heart of Downtown Los Angeles hosts a New Year’s Eve event which includes a bunch of vendors, live bans, food trucks, games, and even an interactive projector. The best thing about this is that the event is FREE and family friendly. Free for all ages, but if you bring your kids, layer up! It will be cold outside.
A popular theme park that stays open passed midnight is Disneyland. Disneyland can get overpopulated for New Year’s Eve so get your tickets early for the high demand! Universal Studios closes early but City Walk is open for NYE and is completely free! Knott’s Berry Farm is also open late and has a complete firework show when the clock strikes midnight.

Located in Long Beach, the Queen Mary hosts an elegant New Year’s Eve Event for adults. The event is pricey, but if you do not mind getting fancy, this place is definitely a place to be! You will be taking dinner on the Queen Mary’s lovely dining hall while they have live musical performances, elegant drinks, and you can find yourself dancing the night away while seeing fireworks above the ocean. This can be a New Year’s Eve to remember!
On a budget? Or simply want the comfortability of your own home? The average American spends New Year’s Eve with their family in their living room waiting for the clock to strike midnight. Some famous channels to watch would be ABC, and the live coverage of the countdown of Times Square New York! Play some family board games and have a toast of apple cider as we move onto the New Year! You may also celebrate New Year’s Day at the popular Pasadena’s Rose Parade!
Hope you enjoyed these ideas! Take your family out, and have a safe New Year’s Eve! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
