Random Acts of Radness
It is pretty dang easy to get wrapped up in your own little world; struggling to pay bills, studying for finals, getting the kids to their sporting events. Oh, dinner? You actually wanted dinner, too!? Life is busy, man! It gets SO overwhelming when you don’t have a grasp on how beautiful life REALLY is. Sometimes it just takes a second to step out of your own way and do something awesome for someone else, someone random, perhaps unsuspecting. There is nothing more humbling than doing something for someone else, for no reason at all. Take a look around the world and notice the good. Spread smiles. Be a walking billboard for happiness and generosity. We have been scouring the web to find these “Random Acts of Radness” and here are some of our favorites!
FIRST UP: 50 RANDOM ACTS FOR HER 30th
This blog is written by the super generous, Tahnie. Cystinonsis couldn’t stop her and her beautiful view on the world. For her 30th birthday last year (happy belated?), she put together a list of 50 Ideas for Random Acts that she encouraged her readers to share for her special day.
Some of our favorites are:
2. Donate crayons, papers, art supplies and games to your local Child Life department at your local Children’s Hospital. (Trust me, they could always use something!)
4. Buy a bunch of balloons and hand them out to random children.
12. Pay for the person behind you in a drive thru.
29. Regift an unused gift card by leaving it on someone’s windshield
33. Do the “Here’s $20 toward the next person in line” at the grocery store

SECOND: 134 IDEAS
Anna paid off close to 24k in debt in only 15 months and completely changed her life and state of mind! She has awesome saving tips and great DIY’s! After the Sandy Hook tragedy, Anna wrote the blog 134 Ideas for Random Acts of Kindness to encourage her readers to help spread a little love, because the world definitely needs it.
Our favorites from her long list are:
9. Let the person who seems rushed cut in front of you (c’mon, guys, we KNOW 2 seconds isn’t going to hold you up…)
36. Walk the cart back to the front of the store
49. Already sweeping leaves or shoveling the snow off your sidewalk? – Do your neighbors sidewalk too.
81. Help that stressed parent by offering to babysit
127. Give a glowing recommendation

NEXT: FLOWERS FOR EVERYONE
Tesia has a wonderful view on the world around her. She is constantly going on adventures and doing things for other people around southern California, like leaving encouraging notes on her college campus and leaving money in envelopes for unsuspecting Disneyland patrons. Our favorite Random Act of Radness that she did was “Project July | Flowers” Throughout the month of July, she took on a weekly challenge to arrange bouquets of flowers and leave them around a small town by her house. Here are some awesome pictures of her project.
Make sure you check up on her blog, weekly! She is always doing awesome stuff for others. Here.
LAST: Anonymous Patron
Here was a remarkable article on the Huffington Post about a group of teachers and autistic students that went to a Tex-Mex restaurant to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and to learn how to behave in such a setting. They were a large group (25 students and 21 teachers, paraprofessionals and speech therapists) that took up a good part of the restaurant. At the end of their meal, they found that their entire $485 bill had been paid for by a fellow patron.

These are the little things that people are doing and talking about that are making the world a better place. Sure, not everyone has the resources to pull off all of these wonderful things, but you can definitely pick one and celebrate kindness in that way.http://www.ahappygirl.com/2013/08/50-ideas-for-random-acts-of-kindness.html http://andthenwesaved.com/random-acts-of-kindness-ideas/ listenandbreathe.com http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/15/autistic-class-bill-paid-new-jersey_n_5332161.html
